BCX FAQ
100 Days. Live Well. Be Confident.
What are the rules for BCX?
BCX is a 100-day challenge split into two 50-day phases. Here’s how it works:
Phase 1: Build (First 50 Days)
You’ll add one step every 10 days, focusing on building habits gradually:
- Step 1: Hydrate – Drink a gallon of water every day for 10 days.
- Step 2: Grow – Add 15 minutes of personal development daily (read, listen to podcasts, etc.).
- Step 3: Move – Add 10,000 steps per day, with one rest day per week.
- Step 4: Focus – Add 5 minutes of meditation or mindfulness practice each day.
- Step 5: Nourish – Choose and follow a meal plan that fits your goals. NO junk food or alcohol allowed during this step.
Phase 2: Consistency (Next 50 Days)
Immediately after Phase 1, begin Phase 2, where you’ll continue practicing all five steps daily and add one more:
- Step 6: Unplug & Done – Unplug from screens by 6 PM (or your equivalent) and no snacking after dinner.
Missed Steps Rule
- If you miss a day within a step, go back to Day 1 of that step until you complete 10 consecutive days before moving on.
- If you miss a step three times, restart the challenge from Day 1 of Phase 1.
- In Phase 2, the same rule applies:
- If you miss a day, restart at Day 1 of Phase 2.
- If you miss three times, go back to Day 1 of Phase 1.
By the end of 100 days, you’ll have built confidence, consistency, and sustainable habits for a healthier lifestyle.
Is the group on Facebook or hosted somewhere else?
The Body Confidence Club is hosted on the Body Confidence app, available for both iOS and Android. This dedicated app provides a focused, distraction-free space where you can connect with others, access resources, and stay on track with the BCX Challenge—all in one convenient place!
Who is the challenge for?
This challenge is for women who are ready to level up, challenge themselves, and take ownership of their lives. If you’re committed to doing the work and becoming a better version of yourself, this challenge is for you. If you’re unwilling or unable to complete the challenge as outlined, this isn’t for you.
How does tracking work?
If you’re doing the challenge solo, you’ll need to track your progress independently. If you join the Body Confidence Club, you’ll have access to the BCX app, which includes habit tracking and additional resources. Download instructions will be provided upon sign-up.
What happens if I miss a day?
The challenge follows a “3 strikes and you’re out” policy to help you stay accountable. During the Build Phase, you can’t progress to the next step until you’ve successfully completed 10 consecutive days of the current step. If you miss a day, you’ll restart at the first day of that step. If you miss three days in the same step, you’ll restart the entire challenge from Day 1. This approach ensures you build a solid foundation, avoiding the all-or-nothing mindset and proving that permanent change is possible through gradual progress.
What counts as Personal Development?
Personal development includes reading or listening to non-fiction books or personal development podcasts. These should focus on topics that help you grow, improve your mindset, or develop skills. If you’re looking for inspiration, I’ve shared a list of my favorite books and podcasts in the Body Confidence Club, which is available to members.
What are the guidelines for following a meal plan?
Starting at Step 5 (Day 40), you must pick a meal plan that aligns with your personal goals and stick to it through the end of the challenge (Day 100). This rule is designed to help you develop discipline and the ability to see things through long enough to evaluate their effectiveness—a skill that applies to every area of life. The goal is to build consistency and trust in yourself by committing to a decision and following through. If you’re unsure about your plan, take some time before starting to choose one that aligns with your goals and feels sustainable for the duration of the challenge.
The only set-in-stone rules for your plan are:
No alcohol or junk food.
This includes items like cookies, candy, and potato chips, or anything that offers little to no nutritional value while being high in sugar or unhealthy fats.
If you are doing this challenge in the Body Confidence Club, I teach the plan I follow and provide tools and resources to help you succeed.
What are the specific rules for unplugging?
In Phase 2, participants commit to the Unplug & Done Rule:
- Unplug: At 6 PM, put your phone in a designated spot and avoid social media. Treat this as if it’s the 90s—no scrolling, no constant checking notifications. Use your phone only for essential tasks like family calls or work emergencies. This habit is about giving your mind a break, reducing overstimulation, and forming deeper connections with those around you.
- Done: After dinner, you’re done eating for the day. No late-night snacking.
This rule helps you disconnect from distractions, reduce anxiety, and be present in your environment. Even glancing at your phone for two seconds shows your kids or loved ones that the screen is more important than their words. This step isn’t optional—it’s a cornerstone of the challenge and a powerful way to reclaim your focus and energy.
Can I modify the rules to fit my lifestyle?
No. This is a challenge, and it’s meant to push you outside your comfort zone. If you’re unwilling or unable to complete any part of it, this challenge isn’t for you.
Do I need to buy anything to participate?
You’ll need a good water bottle to track your daily water intake and a way to count your steps. If you already have those, you don’t need to buy anything else. If not, you’ll need to get them to successfully complete the challenge.
If you choose to join The Body Confidence Club (the BCX community group) it does require a monthly membership fee and offers additional tools and resources, including the BCX app, a private community, and Q&A videos.
Is BCX beginner-friendly?
Yes, but it’s a challenge—it’s designed to push you mentally and help you grow. The steps are manageable if you’re willing to commit and put in the effort. This is about showing yourself what you’re capable of.
What if I have a unique circumstance or specific concern?
If you have any health concerns or unique circumstances, consult your doctor before starting the challenge. This program is designed to build confidence and sustainable habits, but you are responsible for ensuring it aligns with your needs.
