Homemade Vanilla Extract

Ingredients

  • 8.5 ounce bottles
  • Grade B vanilla beans
  • Vodka
  • Funnel
  • Labels
  • Sticker Paper
  • Ribbon

Instructions

  • Cut vanilla beans in half length wise leaving about 1/2 inch attached at the stem.
  • Put 5-8 vanilla beans in each bottle (the more beans, the more flavor)
  • Fill bottle with vodka leaving about half an inch empty at the top.
  • Store for 1-2 months before using, shaking up once a week.

Notes

If using smaller or bigger bottles, the rule of thumb is 5-8 beans/8 ounces of vodka.
