Episode #10 : The Year That Changed Me

Life & Style

Peak Week, Boundaries, and the Year That Changed Me

We are officially in peak week.

Dave started this year at 260 pounds. This week he weighed in at 192. He committed to a Masogi—a one-year challenge we learned about from Jesse Itzler—and chose to compete in a bodybuilding show as his goal.

Not because he wants to be a bodybuilder forever.

But because setting a bold, specific target forces growth.

For almost a year he’s lifted daily, done 90 minutes of cardio, practiced posing, eaten with insane discipline, and now he’s shaving, tanning, sauna-ing, and watching smash burger videos while climbing stairs.

Discipline compounds.

One decision in January becomes a completely different human in December.

And watching him has made me reflect on my own Masogi this year: launching this podcast.

Thanksgiving, Perspective, and Passing Out at 8 PM

Thanksgiving was simple and sweet.

I made my best turkey yet (thank you, Gordon Ramsay recipe). My grandparents came over. We talked about family history—my grandma growing up on a farm and my grandpa being born in Jerusalem and coming to America in 1948.

Dave ate broccoli and chicken while we had the full feast.

And then I passed out on the couch at 8 PM and snored loud enough for my kids to confirm it.

Balance.

December Chaos (And Choosing Boundaries)

December in our house is wild—multiple birthdays plus Christmas—so this year I did something different.

I finished all the Christmas shopping over Black Friday weekend.

Everything.

I want the nine days before Christmas to be slow. Puzzles. Baking. Movies. Presence.

And for the first time in ten years, I want to take an entire week off social media.

My words for 2025 were balance and boundaries.

And I finally feel like I’m ending the year actually living them.

Season One: Imperfect but Powerful

Launching Real and Naturalish was scary.

When you have a built-in audience, there’s pressure to be perfect immediately. But I kept reminding myself: if you’re going to start something new, you’re probably going to suck at first.

This season helped me find my voice again.

There’s so much fear of judgment online. I’ve felt it heavily this year. But going into 2026, I’m done trying to edit myself into something safer.

This is who I am.

And if I can help even one woman by sharing my story, that matters.

2025 Wasn’t the Hardest Year

I’ve been calling this the hardest year of my life.

I’m reframing it.

It was the most transformational.

I rebuilt income streams.
Started therapy.
Started hormone replacement therapy.
Launched Body Confidence.
Did a Hyrox.
Competed at the IDO World Tap Dance Championships in Prague.
Started homeschooling.
Read 42 books (including the entire Throne of Glass series).

There were moments I wanted to quit.

But looking back, I see growth everywhere.

Sometimes things have to feel uncertain before they fall into place.

My Words for 2026

2025 was about balance and boundaries.

2026 will be about focus and growth.

Less scattered energy.
More intention.
Go deep instead of wide.

Season two of the podcast will return in early 2026 with more structure, more expert guests, more pep talks, and more real conversations.

If you’re still here at episode ten?

You’re one of the real ones.

And I’m so grateful.
