DOWN 23 POUNDS!!! 🥳
So for being 10 months postpartum that doesn’t seem too great BUT I was stuck within the same 5-10 pounds of my 40 week pregnant weight for about 7 month…which was super frustrating.
It feels good to actually being SEEING progress now.
I know this journey can be so hard – especially when results seem to take forever and you can’t notice much of a difference – BUT LET ME TELL YOU once you do start seeing that progress it is the 👏🏼 best 👏🏼 motivation to keep going.
HERE ARE SOME THINGS YOU CAN DO IF YOU ARE STRUGGLING TO LOSE WEIGHT
-
ASK YOURSELF, “AM I drinking enough water?”
You need to drink half your weight in ounces of water each day. So for example, if you weigh 100 pounds, you need to drink 50 oz. of water per day!
-
ASK YOURSELF, “AM I GETTING ENOUGH SLEEP?”
Sleep is really important. If you aren’t getting enough sleep, your body makes cortisol which is hormone that causes you to hold onto weight. You should aim to get 7-8 hours of sleep per night. Practicing self-care to reduce your stress is important as well as it decreases the levels of cortisol (that makes you hold onto weight)in your body.
-
UNDERSTAND THAT YOUR WEIGHT WILL FLUCTUATE AND THAT IS TOTALLY NORMAL!
Your weight will fluctuate based on things like:
-
Being on your period
-
What you ate the night before
-
If you’re sore (sore muscles retain water) etc.
-
-
MOST IMPORTANTLY, GIVE YOUR BODY TIME TO LOSE WEIGHT.
It takes time to lose weight. It doesn’t happen overnight. Making these healthy choices is for your health and good choices that add up over time create positive results. Weight loss is a journey, not a quick ride to your destination. You need to give your body time to take the full journey. Stick with it, stay positive, and believe in yourself!
